Auto Accidents & Mediation Attorney in Austin, TX
Driven by Compassion
Everyone deserves to tell their story and feel empowered to move forward. Every single day, I’m motivated to see things from someone else’s perspective and walk in someone else’s shoes.
Inspired by Community
Community is everything. In addition to my legal practice, I give back to the city of Austin any way I can— from donating to local musicians, to hosting turkey dinners, and far more.
Jo Ann Torrez
ATTORNEY AT LAW
Growing up in East Austin, I attended Crockett High School and the University of Texas, continuing on to study law at St. Mary’s University School of Law. As a first-generation college student, I had never considered the possibility of earning my undergraduate degree, let alone my J.D. After law school, I knew I wanted to give back to the community that played such a large role in shaping who I am today.
A Collaborative, Goal-Oriented Approach to Law
You can spend your time and energy on making conflict, or you can make something good come from this. The choice is yours.
When a legal issue arises in your life or in the life of someone you love, it’s natural to feel frustrated—or even completely overwhelmed. It can feel like so many things are out of your control.
I’m here to offer you a different path. In the face of a bicycle injury, a child support battle, a paternity dispute, or anything else, reach out to me. We’ll collaborate and seek results when you need them most, empowering you to take your life back into your own hands.
Steps to Take After a Car Wreck
CALL THE POLICE
Don’t hesitate to call your local police department as soon as the accident occurs. The officer dispatched to the scene will make an accident report and collect the names of any witnesses.
SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION
Whether your injuries seem minor or more severe, you need to seek medical attention right away. Keep track of all doctor’s notes and medical documents, as these could be crucial to building your case.
HIRE A LAWYER
Your insurance provider isn’t looking out for your best interests. Far from it. Get in touch with a Texas auto accident attorney who can fight for the fair compensation you need and deserve.
What My Clients Say
“Having thus chosen our course, without guile, and with pure purpose,
let us renew our trust and go forward without fear.” — Abraham Lincoln
In a message to Congress on the Fourth of July, former trial attorney and president Abraham Lincoln urged his colleagues to take action. He believed they must preserve the Union, and to do this, they must move forward without false intention or fear.
Like the U.S. during the 1860s, you might be experiencing a feeling of division and isolation yourself. You may have suffered in a car wreck, leaving you powerless against insurance companies. Maybe you’re going through a difficult divorce. No matter your legal issue, you shouldn’t have to experience it alone.
At J. Torrez Law, P.C., I’ve spent over two decades helping clients in Austin and the rest of Texas move forward after experiencing injuries on the road, family law disputes, and any other tough situations. A bike accident or paternity battle doesn’t need to mean your future is over—instead, it can be the start of a new chapter in your story.
When you set up a consultation with me in Austin, we’ll set goals and work tirelessly to meet them. I’m proud to serve Williamson County, Hays County, Bastrop County, Caldwell County, and the rest of Texas with collaborative, compassionate representation focused on you.
